D'Autoni's Iodine Solution is an aqueous solution of iodine and potassium iodide, similar to Lugol's Iodine Solution.

D'Autoni iodine solution is mostly used for fecal examination of helminth eggs, protozoan cysts and trophozoites. It is easy to operate, and can be sampled and examined on consecutive days, which improves the detection rate, but negative results do not completely exclude the presence of parasitic infection. This reagent is intended for scientific use only and is not intended for clinical diagnosis or other uses.
