 Fluorescein isothiocyanate is a yellow powder. It is hygroscopic. The conjugated antibody did not lose the specificity of binding to certain antigens and still had strong green fluorescence in alkaline solution. After the addition of acid, the fluorescence disappeared and is slightly dissolved in acetone, diethyl ether and petroleum ether.

Fluorescein isothiocyanate is a biochemical reagent and a medical diagnostic drug, which is mainly used as a fluorescent dye in fluorescent antibody technology.
