Details

Calcium exists in large quantities in the human body. It forms bones, which serve as the supporting framework of the human body, and also plays an important role in secretion, transportation, muscle contraction, nerve conduction, and other processes. Calcium exists in the body in two forms: one is ionic calcium, which is present in the blood circulation, known as blood calcium; the other is bound calcium, which combines with proteins, carbonic acid, or phosphoric acid and is deposited in tissues. Except for bones and teeth, under normal circumstances, calcium permeates all tissues and cells and generally does not appear in tissues in a solid state. However, in some cases, calcium precipitates into a solid state and deposits in tissues, which is called pathological calcium salt deposition. Many dyes can form chelates with calcium, including alizarin red S, purpurin, nuclear fast red, etc.

Common methods for calcium salt staining include the silver nitrate method and the alizarin red S method. This staining solution adopts the tetracycline fluorescence staining method. Tetracycline can specifically bind to calcium salts, presenting green fluorescence under ultraviolet excitation, with a blue background, and the operation is simple. This product is a non-sterile solution, intended solely for scientific research, and must not be used for clinical diagnosis or other purposes.
