Product Introduction:

The Fehling reagent, also known as the Filin reagent, is invented by the German chemist Hermann von Fehling in 1849. The Filin reagent, similar to the Benedict reagent, is used to detect the presence of reducing sugars. The principle is that insoluble reduced sugars (glucose, fructose, and maltose) can produce brick-red cuprous oxide precipitates under heated conditions. Its color change order is: light blue -- brown -- brick red (precipitate).

Filing reagent is mainly composed of potassium and sodium tartrate, copper sulfate, etc. It is often used to identify soluble reducing sugars, and is often used for the identification of urine glucose. It is only used for scientific research purposes and should not be used for clinical detection.
