Product Introduction:

Myelin Sheath is a multilayer lipid bilayer structure formed by the plasma membrane of nerve membrane cells winding along the axis of the axon. There are Ranvier's knots on the myelin sheath, which can cause the skipping transmission of nerve impulses. Myelin staining has some significance in pathological diagnosis. The pathological changes of myelin sheath are divided into early, middle and late stages. The color is darker in the early stage. In the middle stage of the lesion, the myelin degenerated into lipid droplets, which could be visualized by lipid staining. In the later stage, the myelin degenerated completely and is cleared by phagocytes.

Many diseases can cause changes in myelin sheath. Myelin staining kit (modified Page method), also known as sarchromic cyanine myelin staining solution, can show whether the myelin sheath is intact, the degree of degeneration, necrosis and repair under pathological conditions. It is of significance for pathological diagnosis and research of nerve tissue.
