Details
Lens Culinaris Agglutinin (abbreviated as LCA) is a metal protein isolated from the seeds of lentils. It consists of two 17 kD large subunits and two 8 kD small subunits, with a molecular weight of approximately 49 kDa. It can specifically bind to molecules containing α-D-mannose, α-D-glucose, or spatially related residues. The Beaver LCA magnetic beads are a new type of affinity magnetic beads that couple Lens Culinaris Agglutinin with agarose. They utilize the specific and reversible interaction between the agglutinin and the sugar chains of glycoproteins for the separation and purification of glycoproteins, and are used for enriching or purifying glycoproteins. The magnetic separation method does not require complex operations such as centrifugation, filtration, or chromatography. It only requires adding an external magnetic field to separate the target protein, eliminating the need for numerous sample pretreatment and sample separation processes. Compared with traditional separation and purification methods, magnetic separation has the advantages of rapidity, efficiency, and high purity.
