The surface of NHS magnetic beads is modified with NHS groups, which can form stable peptide bonds with proteins and other molecules containing primary amine groups. They are used for the affinity purification of antibodies, antigens, and other biological molecules. Compared with traditional carboxyl or amino magnetic beads, magnetic beads with NHS groups on their surface do not need to be activated with EDC/NHS or glutaraldehyde in advance. It is only necessary to simply dissolve the biological ligands containing primary amino groups in the Coupling Buffer provided in the kit, and then mix the protein with the NHS magnetic beads at room temperature for 1-2 hours to covalently couple the biological ligands to the magnetic beads. This method has the advantages of simple operation, mild coupling conditions, and rapid and efficient coupling of biological ligands.

The coupling process of magnetic beads must be carried out in a buffer solution that does not contain any amino groups. During manual operation, a magnetic separation rack is used to separate the magnetic beads from the solvent. Automated equipment can also be used for operation, and automated operation is suitable for the screening of multiple samples.
